What is Be Activated?
The body has 2 priorities for survival, to breathe and to move.
A correctly functioning human body is designed to move in a 1-2-3 sequence pattern, starting with the diaphragm and ending with the fingers and toes, resulting in expansion. However when muscles are not firing correctly this causes dysfunctional movement patterns or compensation patterns that reduce performance and can lead to chronic pain.
Be Activated is a simple techniques that stimulates the nerve supply to muscles which have become lazy or confused and resets the body so it can function correctly.
Be Activated is results driven. At the start of a session we carry out simple strength and flexibility tests. Then following the activation sequence the same tests are repeated and the changes in the body are immediately evident. We begin with releasing the diaphragm which encourages deeper breathing which moves the body from the sympathetic state(fight, flight or freeze) into the parasympathetic state (rest and digest).
Be Activated is used around the world by elite sports teams, the fitness industry and health practitioners alike. As well as treating injuries and enhancing sporting performance, it’s a powerful tool for stress management.
After an Activation you can expect to breathe better, feel stronger or lighter and pain free.
An Activation session typically lasts between 1-1.5 hours.
I am a qualified Be Activated practitioner. I completed Level 1 and 2 training with Douglas Heel in 2018 and have continued to use it since.
The techniques can also be incorporated into a yoga practice.
